About Rachel Higginbotham, MD

Hi! I’m Rachel — a sleep physician, certified coach, mom, and a woman in midlife who understands how layered and complex sleep can become in this season of life.

Over the 15 years I’ve worked as a sleep physician, I’ve seen how often the sleep tips people are given aren’t enough. Sleep strategies from CBT-I can be incredibly effective tools — but many people still struggle unless we also address the stress, mindset, and daily patterns that influence sleep long before bedtime.

That’s what led me to expand my work into coaching. I wanted a way to support women more fully by tending to the daytime experiences and internal pressures that shape how we rest at night.

In coaching, I use evidence-based sleep strategies within a whole-person approach that includes mindfulness, self-compassion, nervous system support, and practical shifts in mindset, stress, and daily rhythms. When these pieces come together, sleep becomes easier and evenings feel calmer.

My work supports women in midlife as they learn to sleep better, reduce stress, and move through their days feeling more clear, balanced, and renewed.
